Trixie Lowrimore (Trix, Tricky, Turks and many more) 03/02/2005 – 09/18/2025
I met her while volunteering at my local humane society when I was nine. She was adopted by other families and returned twice before my mom finally gave in and let me bring her home. Trix and I were bound together from that day forward. She lived to be 20, spending 19 of those years by my side. From elementary school through college and our first apartment on our own, from North Carolina to NYC to the Catskills, while everything else changed, she remained my constant. She was an unwaveringly loyal friend for every season and the most durable love of my life. Tricky ran along beaches, swam in rivers and crossed streams, she rolled in the grass and unfortunately tried to fight every single dog that crossed our path (I’m hoping that wherever she is, she’s reunited with her best friend and the only dog she ever liked, Kermie). Her final months were slow and sweet, spent enjoying her own yard in the mountains and lying by the creek, exactly where she always belonged. I know I’ll be finding pieces of her fur for the rest of my life
I am lucky to have shared a timeline with her. Thank you for the love, the lessons and the laughter. I love you, Tricky girl. We had so much fun.
