Kong

2009 - 2014

How we met
We met Kong when he was nine months old. His previous owner got him at eight weeks, but couldn’t keep him. I kept telling Amanda on the way there that we are just going to look and not take him home. The previous owner had several people come to look at him, and he didn’t like any of them. But we were different. He knew by Kong’s loving interaction with us that we were the right ones to love him and take care of him. Amanda didn’t have to ask: he was coming with us.

What Kong liked.
Kong loved squeaky “Kong” brand tennis balls. He loved bones and treats and ropes and tires. He also loved to go check out the fox’s den in our backyard and pee on everything between it and the house.

Kong's legacy.
Kong will be remembered as the ring-bearer at our wedding, family member in every sense of the word, and a true friend. He will be remembered for the unconditional love and excitement he brought to our home every day. He will be missed and could never be replaced. There will always be a special place in our heart for you Kong - we love you and miss you and always will.
