My Crystal Companion
If you have lost a dear friend My Crystal Companion would like to help you
create a beautiful gift of love and devotion.
My Crystal Companion has taken the crystal maker’s
art to the next level. We capture the essence of the life you
loved by infusing the cremated remains within crystal, producing a
unique and beautiful commemoration. We know it can be difficult to
deal with the emotions surrounding loss. Memorializing the
companion you loved can help soothe the grieving process. Creating
a crystal temple to the life that was so precious provides a
unique and beautiful option to storing cremated remains in a
standard urn.
THE PROCESS
How do you create your own personal Crystal Companion? It makes no
difference how long ago the cremation occurred. All we need is a
tablespoon of the cremains and we can present your Companion in
approximately 4-6 weeks.
When we receive the cremains from the distributor, we place them in their
own sealed container and assign them a serial number. All
processing of your Companion is done inside the assigned container
and at no time are cremains co-mingled.
Your COMPANION is created in its own crucible from the cremains you have
sent to us. Your crucible is destroyed after the creation. We take
great care to insure the integrity of the process. You can be
assured that your COMPANION is yours alone.
To Family and friends your Companion will look like an ordinary crystal
or jewel. However, Crystal Companion is personally and uniquely
yours. No two are ever the same. Just as no two lives are ever
alike, each crystal is unique and special. We begin with a clear
crystal and after infusing it with a portion of your companions’
cremains we allow your crystal to create it’s self. The essence of
your Loved ones life determines the color and design of the
crystal.
The range of colors created has been likened to the beautiful and vast
variety of greenish hues found in Jade, Peridot or Emerald. On
occasion, rich amber will appear. Every aspect of the Companion is
unique, including design. The cremains determine whether the
companion appears translucent or opaque, as well as whether or not
it will possess any number of speckled or clouded designs in
shades of white and amber. It is truly a unique testament to the
bond between you and your cherished companion.
Our custom designs are created by world class gem cutters and set in our
original mountings by the world respected jewelry designer and
setter, John Clark. We offer seven cuts and 16 colors in 14 K
white gold, 14K yellow gold or sterling silver. Our pendants are
approximately 6.5-11 cts and our ladies or men’s ring are

The Colors are approximate. NO TWO ARE THE SAME. Q & A Q: How do I order My Crystal Companion? A: Simply contact us at Abbey Glen Pet Memorial Park, 800-972-3118 and we will be happy to assist you with all of your arrangements. Q: How much cremated remains are needed to create a Crystal Companion? A: We require approximately 4 tablespoons of cremated remains to produce a large companion crystal. You can send this amount in a container secured in a double zip lock bag, or a 35mm film canister to the representative nearest you with a completed and signed order form or you can bring your urn to the distributor for them to decant. Q: How does My Crystal Companion keep track of my loved one? A: When we receive the package, our incoming department logs it in, assigns each container of remains a serial number and seals the item in its own container. This allows documented traceability throughout the process and insures against any possible confusion with another client’s package. Q: How soon must I start this process after cremation? A: The age of the remains, or how long you have had them, has no bearing on the process. We can create from remains that have just been cremated, to remains that you have had stored in an urn, or box for many years. Q: How much of the remains becomes part of the Crystal item? A: Approximately 5%-20% of the volume or size of the crystal created is actual cremated remains, depending on the item chosen. Because of the relatively small quantity of remains used in the process ( from ¼ teaspoon to 4 tablespoons, depending on the size of the companion ordered ) in most instances you will have enough remains left to make several companions, keep in an urn, scatter, or bury in a favorite location. Q: What will the finished item look like? A: If remains were not added, the item would turn out clear, transparent, with no color whatsoever. When cremains are added it imparts a unique character to each piece. The appearance of the finished piece will depend upon the chemical and mineral make up of the loved one, the thoroughness of the cremation process, the amount of carbon present, how the ashes are absorbed, etc. The appearance can range from a dark green/amber to an almost clear appearance. In some instances, you can see only tiny gas bubbles that are present in crystal, while in others you can see a great deal of unabsorbed particulate matter evenly, unevenly, internally concentrated, or peripherally concentrated. This is what makes these items unique. Each one has its own identity with the crystal, just as each had their own unique personality in life. Q: How long does the process take? A: Approximately 6-8 weeks after we receive the cremains to be created, cut, polished, set, and returned to your distributor. Q: What are my design options? A: Cushion Cut, Radiant Cut, Portuguese Cut, Heart Cut, Pear Cut, Trilliant Cut, Teardrop Briolette Cut Q: Can I get any offered cut in any offered color in any offered metal? A: Yes you may. Q: What settings are offered? A: The pendants, women’s rings and men’s rings are offered in 14 kt. White gold, 14 kt. Yellow gold and Sterling Silver. Q: Do the Pendants come with chains? A: No. However, we offer as an option at additional cost : 18” 14 kt. White or yellow gold 1.4mm round wheat chains or 18” 030 Serpentine Sterling Silver chain. Q: What if I accidentally break a crystal? A: If you should break the crystal, the pieces can be recast. Q: Is this a natural grown mineral? A: No. This is not a diamond, gem or naturally grown crystal or mineral. It is a created glass crystal keepsake individually molded, cast and cut. It is much softer than a diamond and somewhat softer than most natural grown mineral crystals. Q: What is the value of my Crystal ? A: The value is twofold: 1.The intrinsic beauty of the created design. In the case of our Arthur Lee Anderson collection and our Crystal Companion Original Jewelry the uniqueness of the items, created by world respected artists is a collector’s item in of itself. 2.The true value is the personality that is reflected by your loved one actually becoming part of a work of art that is unique and one of a kind. Q: Why should I have a Crystal Companion created instead of my other options? A: Some people want to have something of beauty that they can hold and relate to as an everlasting connection to a loved one who has passed on. You can have both. You can have a crystal companion created and scatter the balance of the ashes, bury them, or keep them in an urn.
